My Story

"I know what it feels like to feel lost in your emotions without a way out."

Growing up in a region of the world with a history of political unrest; safety and security were a foreign need to me, yet as a child, I was in desperate need of feeling safe. Uncertainty and fear became my everyday experience along with many other trials and tribulations that followed.

"It was my own journey of healing that brought me home to my authentic self."

It wasn’t until I was finally ready to face my trauma and acknowledge it’s influence over my life that I was able to feel liberated and free from the hold it had on me. Through my own journey of healing, I learned about my true authentic self.

"I became a therapist because I want to extend the hope that I found through my own journey to healing."

In my teenage years, I grew an interest in learning about the human mind and how our experiences shape the way we think, feel, and act. I was particularly interested in the natural resilience and strength that we possess, allowing us to recover and move past the most difficult adversities in life. After being in this field for over 15 years, I still find it so humbling to be entrusted with an opportunity to walk alongside someone’s journey of self-discovery and healing.

  • Working with Me

I am a relational therapist. Here’s how I like to describe my approach: I believe individuals have an ability to change the course of their lives. I like to describe my journey with those I work with like driving a car. They are in the driver seat, and I am in the passenger seat. We are on a journey together. In my hand is the map with the directions on how to reach our destination, but they are in control of the drive. Sometimes, my directions are not needed, only my company. other times, my directions are requested. We might get lost along the way and that’s when I will gently provide a road map to get us back on the right path. Other times, the driver knows the way and so I just sit back but continue to be present in this journey. Sometimes, a break is needed, and we will do just that. No one can determine how long this journey will last, but eventually, we will get there.

As a Trauma Informed Therapist, I am trained in a variety of methods, which gives me the flexibility to find an approach that will work best with you. In my practice, I work best with teenagers (14-17), adults, and couples. My goal is to create a safe, warm, and supportive environment so you can express yourself freely and unapologetically. I will support you in breaking old habits, reframing powerful beliefs and unsettling feelings that are constricting you from moving forward in life and accomplishing your goals. My hope for you is to become the best version of yourself through identifying your priorities, values, and develop the skills needed to tap into your full potential.

Your authentic self and inner strength are more powerful than your pain…I’d like to help you uncover that.
